web interface not displaying properly

I installed versione 1.34.16 today, according to instructions

first problem: pointing the browser to localhost/zm, it found no page.... I had to put a symbolic link in /var/www/html, called "zm" pointing to /usr/share/zoneminder/www.. in this way the web interface shows up

but, second problem, that web interface is a bit weird: graphically s missing something (buttons, shapes etc),..

... and, anyway, it is not working: I am not able to add cameras, change settings etc.. all the buttons are ineffective


it seems a permission proble, but I'm not able to troubleshoot it properly.. is anyone willing to help me in this?

It helps if you say which instructions you followed.

Sounds like Apache not configured properly.

apache seems ok: all the other servers are working properly, both static and also a drupal installation with php and mysql

I tried to change the port for the zm server, but no luck

You haven’t properly configured the vhost for Apache to serve the ZM site or there’s a problem with that part of the config.
