Event Degradation?

Anyone out there experiment with Event Degradation?

Most of my Zoneminder systems I setup I aim for a 10 day retention, But I was thinking if there was a way for run a script that can go into an even that is over 10 days old and say delete ever other frame. The event will still be there and a good likelihood you can get what you want from the information if you started with a good frame-rate, but will take a little less disk space.

Deleting the image files would be the easy part. Getting the database cleaned up, That I am not sure how to tackle.
