Live CD

Post by hushpuppy »

I had an email yesterday from someone asking if i still made available a live cd i put together about a year or so ago.

After a change of hosting company (their downtime was almost as much as their uptime) I never got round to uploading the iso to the new server.

It's back again at the same url http://www.doubleburgerbar.com/watchdog/wd2.iso

No docs, but if youre not sure hpw to use it, reply here and ill help out.

After a couple of emails from different people asking for help, I've come back to Watchdog with the intention of ugrading / improving it.

I've run this Live CD for almost a year now, on two seperate machines.

(For anyone not familiar with what i created, it boots up into a fully working debian zoneminder system, with the ability to use a hard disk to store events and changes.)

One is never turned off, it has only given me a problem if a hdd is full, or on two occasions hardware failure (hdd and wireless cards).

The other machine is in a mobile unit, is never turned off correctly, the electric is simply disconnected, this has happened at least 300 times over the last year, and still the CD boots up (actually it's a usb stick) normally without problems. I did have to write a small script to delete some temp files, and occasionally the database becomes corrupted, but the thing still works with punishment like that, so I'm satisfied that what i put together is rock solid.

If you have any feature requests, will you please either email me, pm me, or simply respond to this post. All suggestions and ideas most welcome.

Thanks.
