Hello Everyone,
I'm not having any luck getting Modect to work after uninstalling my ver 1.21 and doing a clean install of ver 1.22.
Mocord and Record are working.
Please advise how I might troubleshoot this.
Thank you!

i would assume this is a sensitivity issue, how are you testing? and how is your zone currently set?

For some reason I could not view the image when trying to edit a zone. I checked my paths in the options but no joy. So I created my own directory and pointed ZM at that and sure enough I have the zone now working. Not sure why when I setup the new dir in the same directory with the same permissions - exactly the same...
Once I did that my Modect started working. Now I'm playing with sensitivity and looking into how to get more than 5-7 seconds per alarm. I'm also curious how you can combine more than one event into a video clip. The ffmpeg looks to be working well.
Until next time,

Clean install of ZM 1.22.0
Debian Etch
Apache/2.0.55
PHP 5.1.2-1
mysql 4.1.15
no ffmpeg
------------------
I can see stills and live streams. I can force alarms and the forced alarms are go to the events dir. There is one zone created for one camera using 100%. No errors in apache, zm, or system logs. I haven't tried making a new (i'm guessing events?) directory since i can force alarms and they write to the existing events dir just fine.
Not really sure where to start looking.......
EDIT: I tried deleting then recreating the zone and Modetect works now!
Zone values i used:
- changed units from pixels to percent
- changed alarm check method from alarmedpixels to blob
- min/max pixel thres. = 25/0
- min/max alarmed area = 3/75
- filter width/height = 3/3
- min/max filtered area = 3/75
- min/max blob area = 2/0
- min/max blobs = 1/0

thx for the reply JW. Since the zones "just worked" in older ZM versions, i didn't think to look there. I edit my post in case someone else comes across that issue.

glad its sorted, also for others if upgrading i have found it easier to delete the existing zones and recreate new ones using the excellent preset feature
