ZMninja Monitors work but loading events times out

Hi all, I currently have a zoneminder v1.36.33 setup, I struggled with the API for a while because it was missing some oddball files, but all of that is working now. Now when I boot up ZMninja and connect it to the server, I am getting gateway timeout errors in the logs. If I connect directly to the IP instead of the hostname which has an SSL cert using HA proxy on our PFsense gateway, I am able to get the events to kind of start loading but then it essentially slows down until it freezes. I also have multiport forwarding setup but I saw on the more recent versions that's been fixed to work properly. I've attached the logs, any other questions feel free to ask.
