Playing around with my system, and saw that the automatic purge is not working. so turned on the log's to debug. Not finding the answer why the purge does not start automaticly, yes Run filter in background is ticked.

But i also saw the message as in the subject:
Decoding is not keeping up. We are xxx seconds behind capture.

I thought my zones where not right, but i guess this is the problem that not all motion is recorded.
Is there a quick fix like give more memory or something.
The system is running within proxmox on a debian image with 8 gigs of ram and 4 cpu's
i have 4 camera's
#1 in record mode in low res permanently.
#1 in modect hi res.
#2 in monitor mode hi res
#3 in monitor mode hi res
#4 in modect mode hi res

Lower resolution and lower framerate can greatly reduce the load on the server. I see 'Official' security camera companies install a decent camera, then limit the framerate to 10fps.
In my own ZM configurations, I set the framerate to 5 fps.

You're running Debian, would be worth using htop to see how slammed your system is.
