Eventserver Docker "latest" pulls 1.36.12, base pulls 1.36.25

Good afternoon, I am successfully using both of the docker images found at:
https://github.com/zoneminder-containers
however when running the zoneminder-base image, with the "latest" tag, I get 1.36.25
When running the eventserver-base image, with "latest" tag, I get 1.36.12 at the top right corner of my browser.
It prompts me to update. As far as I know, the container should self update.
I tried to manually change the "latest" tag to 1.36.25, which didnt work. I looked on the github page and saw zm_v1.36.25-es_v6.1.28 is the latest, so I went with that instead. that also failed to spin up the container.
