Problem:
Audio not saved when checkbox is checked. Tested with Video Writer at passthrough and encode h265/hevc Encoder libx265.
ZM console will say recording, Capturing and video is saved when in passthrough, but no audio and log continues to print below WAR and ERR messages:

When using encoding it will sporadically record videos without sound.
Video and Audio works without issues when watching live through VLC via same RTSP link and credentials as used with ZM.
Same issue experienced on ALMA linux.
Tried adding -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc to Source Options and storage options, same issue. Log says ZM cannot use those vars (maybe i did it wrong?)

Setup:
Hypervisor: ESXi-7.0U3c-19193900-standard
OS: Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS, latest patches applied
Camera video format is H.265.
cam: Reolink RLC-820A (newest firmware)
Zoneminder version 1.36.14

I'm just commenting here, that I have the same problem with Reolink RLC-810A, with the latest software version. ZM version is 1.36.15 i.e. also the latest at the time of writing.

Is this problem somewhat Reolink specific?

Sorry for necroing the thread, but I have a Reolinc RLC-510A and I also get a fatal error when attempting to write audio in the stream.

I have now a new installation based on Debian 12 and zoneminder 1.36.33 from repositories. The same error exists.

Same here with reolink 810A
However more recent hw version of the camera works fine (IPC_56064M8MP) with my second experimental zm installation.
So some 810A cameras might have this problem, some might not.
The same problem is for 811A camera and 510A
