HDD space needed for recordings?

Needing to increase my storage and looking to get some estimate of what is appropriate. I have 3 network cams now and don't want to be too tight so entered 4 in the calculator here:
https://www.seagate.com/video-storage-calculator/
Other entries:
Frames/sec: 8
Hours per day: 4
Number of days: 21
Resolution: 1080p
Wasn't sure what to put for video quality so selected medium
Result was much different for mjpg than H.264
MJPG: 2.5 TB
H.264: 121 GB

Don't really understand the details or which I should be looking at. I will be doing motion detection and only recording motion events although I still need to do some tuning to get that working better.

I expect you'll be storing H.264 in MP4 and maybe some analysis JPEGs.

I'm presuming you have some idea of what it's currently consuming. Otherwise just go for at least 1TB.

Or even 500GiB. Those are really cheap.
A lot depends on what frame rate you use.
