Some questions from a beginner

Post by johnydo »

Hello everbody,

I am absolutely new here in the forum and on the topic ZoneMinder. At the beginning I greet you and sorry for my bad English :).

First I tell something about my ZoneMinder System. I use a Raspberry Pi Model 4 with a Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS Server operating system. As a datastore I use my Synology with a NFS share. I linked the complete "/var/cache/zoneminder" directory to my Synology. I use the ZoneMinder version 1.34.7 with a MySQL database and a Apache webserver with SSL only. I use two Vivotek IP cameras FD9367-HV and FD8369A.

I use this thread for my questions. Thank you!
Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB Ram
Software: Ubuntu Server 18.04.4 LTS, ZoneMinder 1.34.7
Monitor-1: Vivotek FD9367-HV, 2MP, H.264 1920x1080 1080p 30FPS
Monitor-2: Vivotek FD8369A-V, 2MP, H.264 1920x1080 1080p 30FPS

Hi,

I have a problem with my Monitor-1. I add the Monitor with this options:

General
Name: Monitor-1
Source Type: Ffmpeg
Function: Modect
Reference Image Blend: 12,5% (Outdoor)

Source
Source Path: rtsp://user:password@192.168.0.5/live1s1.sdp
Method: TCP
Target colorspace: 32Bit
Capture Resolutions: 1920 x 1080 1080p

In the Console I see the Monitor-1 as green. I can click to it and I see the Camerapicture but I can not click to any links or buttons, the system "hangs". After a while the system hangs I get this errormessage in my browser:

Forbidden

After a browser refresh I can see the Console without any problems or errors.

Hi,
One way to save events to your NAS is to use systemd mount.
https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Common_Issu ... ive_or_NAS
Since this was written Zoneminder has added additional storage features which also can be used. The systemd mount, however, is reliable. If you want I can try a test from my Pi to my Synology NAS.

Try half the resolution.

Try half the resolution.
Hi,

thank you! That solved my problem. Why does this problem arise? Is my system to slow for the 1080p resolution?

EDIT:
When I check top at my Linux system I have only 15% CPU load...

Hi,

I think my problem is not the NFS share. I have this problem with local disk space also...
