Upgrade ZM 1.30.4 on Debian 9 to ZM 1.33.x on Debian 10?

Is it possible to [successfully  ] UPGRADE both ZM and Debian, from ZM 1.30.4 on Debian 9 to ZM 1.33.x on Debian 10? My current server has quite a few configurations that I'd rather not risk trashing as would happen with a fresh install: I try to maintain copies of config files (in a sudo repository), but most likely there will be some missed that would cause a lot of hair-pulling.

Many months ago I had installed Debian Buster (development) and ZM 1.32.x but ended up reverting back due to database corruption issues.

A quick search here seems to suggest that 1.33.x plays a lot nicer with Debian 10 (helps that there's now an actual production release of Debian Buster).

I'd be running mariadb server.

I did it successfully. I had to swap php modules from 7.0 to 7.3 and install php-gd package.

Take a backup of your Zoneminder database before you upgrade anything...just in case. I recommend you store the backup on another device. With that you can at least restore Zoneminder configuration if something happens.

Actually, you may want to wait for 1.34.x which should be released within a week.

Many thanks for the input!

I suppose it pays to procrastinate :D Looking forward to upgrading: I make regular backups on a separate partition, so should be good there.
