"Got signal 11 (Segmentation fault), crashing"

Post by kitkat » Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:46 pm

I was using 1.32.2 for months, but after changing to 1.32.3 I keep getting this in the log every few minutes...

Code: Select all

I've tried all the suggestions, and running the suggested command gives...

Code: Select all

Clean CentOS 7 install, with ZM installed from the RPMFusion.

Is there a way to downgrade (yum won't do it) or get hold of an RPM for 1.32.2?

I grabbed the 1.32.2 source code, built an RPM, and installed it (after 'yum autoremove zoneminder' on the existing install).

I'd previously backed up the old 1.32.2 database before upgrading and as I wasn't sure how downgrading from 1.32.3 would work out I renamed the 1.32.3 version and created a new 1.32.2 one, importing the Monitors, Zones and Config tables from the backup.

The errors have gone away, and the CPU and disk activity have also dropped back to pre-upgrade levels.

Great and now you have none of the fixes that are in 1.32.3.

If only someone was still developing ZM and there were more recent versions, with more fixes/features in them....

Yeah, I know, but I couldn't fix the crashes otherwise, however I played with the options :(

The CPU usage and disk activity were hugely increased with 1.32.3 as well, which was mostly down to one of the ZMA processes, but changing the monitor options didn't seem to make much difference there either.

I'm no coder these days, other than a bit of shell scripting and PHP now and again, so the odds on me fixing it any other way were probably close to zero :(
