Installed zoneminder to watch over some cams. These 2105 are performing all right in VLC and in zoneminder's log I get the following.

Sep 3 22:42:35 beholder zmc_m4[27019]: FAT [Unable to get session identifier from response 'RTSP/1.0 200 OK']

The rstp url is
rstp://192.168.1.23:554

Some quick nosing around with wireshark showed that VLC gets RTSP comminications right and then starts RTP stream and ZM cycles his commands and never gets to the RTP streaming part . Can anyone hint me at least the direction where to look at

Although not really a true fix, i wasn't able to use my acti cam via rtsp either in zm. Ffmpeg works though, maybe you could try that?

I was looking for a way to do this WITHOUT reencoding like 10-15 cameras because the resourses are quite limited.

Didn't realize that ffmpeg re-encodes the feed. Has to be decoded, for sure. Do you know what format ffmpeg re-encodes the feed? Jpeg?
