On the wiki, in at least a couple of pages such as "Ubuntu Server 12.04 64-bit with Zoneminder 1.25.0 the easy way", there is a suggestion to add 'sleep 15' just above 'zmfix -a' to the file /etc/init.d/zoneminder ...
Unless I'm adding it in the wrong place, this causes a zombie process on my system. Removing 'sleep 15' stops the zombie process.
