Zoneminder on Gentoo in general...

Installed Zoneminder v1.2?.? quite some time ago on Gentoo as an eBuild (emerge -pv zoneminder) with a generic four slot BT878-chip capture-card, running on a beat up Compaq Pro (AP550) and some 256Mb memory.
Lots and lots of problems with no visible hints, and basically nothing working.
However, once I got the website running and zoneminders absolutely excellent internal debugging turned on things where relatively easy to solve.
Unfortunately I don't remember even half of the things I fixed, will post them if I'll do a clean install anytime soon.

Now running 1.22.3 just perfect without any problems.
