Hi everyone,
I'm setting up a system with ~12 1080p 15FPS cameras capable of H264 streaming, all in record mode. The system is based on a Pentium E550 running Debian 8 which struggles to decode the H264 streams into jpegs, so came up with the idea of using the feature-h264-videostorage experimental branch. And here comes the mess.
I've tried building it from sources but it gave me headaches with the dependencies. I was actually able to install it despite the dependency hell, but it broke apt an so I couldn't install/update anything anymore.
It also seems that the Ubuntu PPA https://launchpad.net/~iconnor/+archive ... deostorage doesn't play well with Debian.
Are there ways to get the job done under Debian?
Thank You.
H264 branch on Debian 8
Re: H264 branch on Debian 8
I have a debian ppa that I am trying to get a little more automated.
You can stick this in your /etc/apt/sources.list
For released versions
deb http://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian jessie/
For master snapshots
deb http://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian-master jessie/
For feature-h264-videostorage
deb http://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian-fea ... deostorage jessie/
For storageareas
deb http://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian-storageareas jessie/
I recommend using the storageareas branch for the h264 stuff, because it has my experimental code in it.
