I would go skim over the wiki.
Genera stuff
zoneminder is a web applications so to see to go to.
http://127.0.0.1/zm

after that you have to set up cams which is talked about in the wiki.

I am unable to see the application when I type that address in. I do see IT WORKS! or something similar if i just type in my ip address though.

rm /var/www/index.php

ln -s -R /usr/share/zoneminder /var/www

then http://localhost/zoneminder
