Event generation and playback issues...

Post by mrd »

I"m not sure what I'm really seeing here but there are definitely some issues. When I try to play back events, they do not play smoothly even on my local LAN and sometimes seems to lock up apache so that nothing can be displayed from clicking links on the console. I just did a fresh install of 1.24.2 and did not have any trouble playing back events in 1.23.x

I was trying to tune my zones this evening and now I see a very long event that thinks it was generated in 1969???

40 Event-40 1969-12-31 19:00:00 8820569.50 39/1 100/100 X
39 Event-39 1969-12-31 19:00:00 0.00 34/1 100/100 X
38 Event-38 2009-09-30 21:36:41 10.19 309/40 3/5 X
37 Event-37 2009-09-30 21:32:45 7.82 237/42 3/5 X
35 Event-35 2009-09-30 20:13:29 6.29 183/3 4/5 X
34 Event-34 2009-09-30 18:24:58 10.06 305/90 8/20 X
32 Event-32 2009-09-30 17:51:26 8.68 259/75 11/19 X

Has anyone else seen this weirdness?

Yes, I also had this problem, but used MYSQLTUNER as suggested in this message. It seemed to fix it.

Well... I'm not sure that it helped, but I did it anyway.

I'm still seeing major issues and it all seems to revolve around viewing events. After I attempt to view an event the system gets unstable and won't load other monitor windows or do much of anything. top shows low cpu and memory consumption and nothing looks weird in ps -ef.

When I try to view an event, I often see a message about the time between next event being 1 second or something, but I've selected to view only single events, although I did try the other options so maybe the system is confused about the even viewing and always trys to stream all existing events in the background.

I'm not sure what to do.

Hi,

I am having exactly the same problem, did your problem get resolved and how did you do it ?.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I have upgraded from 1.21 which was extremely stable and am having many issues with 1.24.2.

I never really did anything, but learn to live with it. In fact, I've been running 1.24.2 for as long as it's been available and although the playback of events is occasionally not working well I've been happy with it. The biggest issue I still have is when I try to cycle through events quickly by pressing the advance arrow, I end up with a black screen that says soemthing like " less than 1 second until next event", but hangs there.

Sorry I can't give better advice, but hopefully a bug fix release is coming soon.

Thanks for your response, I am having the same issues, maybe my expectations were too high after 4 years of faultless performance from 1.21.

I do hope a bug fix is released soon as well.
