PV-149 no pics

PV-149 no pics

Installed Ubuntu 8.04
Installed Zoneminder via Synaptic.
Physicallly installed PV-149 I bought from bluecherry.
I cannot get pics out of it, I have a camera on one input.
However, just as I was posting this, I looked again at result of xawtv and I did get part of a picture, but don't recall doing anything to make that happen, and in the past, got nothing. Nothing shows when I do montage in Zoneminder.

Not sure where to start on this, but:

thanks, i tried
xawtv -nodga -device /dev/video4
with no luck.

Have you tried chmod 777 /dev/video0 to 3?
What do you get from ls /usr/bin/zmfix -l?

ok, I did some more reading in the wiki, still no further.

I don't understand "to 3" above. what is the command line to type?
I did chmod 777 /dev/video0

output from /usr/bin/zmfix -l is
nothing.

but i did ls -l /usr/bin/zmfix and got:
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 43048 2008-02-12 13:51 /usr/bin/zmfix

I did
sudo chmod 4755 /usr/bin/zmfix

then output from ls -l /usr/bin/zmfix is still
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 43048 2008-02-12 13:51 /usr/bin/zmfix

I do get a picture from
xawtv

but I also get in terminal:
