What´s the best input stream format (IP-cams) for zm ?

Post by kwak »

Hi,

what is the best input stream format from IP-cams in terms of low CPU-load ?
Is it mjpeg ? Is there a difference if zoneminder grabs single .jpgs or a mjpeg stream from an IP-cam ?

Thanks !

that means at same CPU-load i can get more fps using mjpeg
but why shouldn´t i get less CPU-load at same fps using mjpeg if the above is valid :?:

no, the load is dependant upon framreate, ie 5fps of mjpeg will have the same load as 5 fps of jpeg

that means that a camera may give higher framerates in mjpeg than in jpeg.
