maximum resolution

i have a pv-183 caputre card... zmu says this:

Maximum Width: 768
Maximum Height: 480

however, whenever i attempt to set zm to this resolution, the channel goes red and it will only display at this resolution if set to greyscale. how can i make it get it's highest resoluton?

Check things like your shared memory allocation and your buffer sizes...

duuuuuh.... i'm a windows admin. i just started using linux, so you're going to have to hold my hand while we cross the street....

is there anything else that you should know before we start changing things like that?

does zm actually support resolutions of that scale w/o changing settings?

Buffer sizes are defined in ZoneMinder's configuration options page.

The shared memory issue is described in the Wiki here

Incidentally, 768x480 looks a bit like a wide-screen resolution. 640x480 would be more normal.
