I have a question

Post by JonathanHartman »

I've been optimizingsuika game my setup based on the advice given in the thread about achieving high-resolution video storage with low machine load. My system specs are similar to those discussed: an Intel Core i5 with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD, running Debian stable with ZoneMinder 1.34.23. I'm using an Axis camera with motion detection handled by the camera itself to reduce the load on ZoneMinder.

Despite following the recommended settings, including using Ffmpeg as the source type and H264 Camera Passthrough for video writing, I'm still facing issues with live view stability and MPEG artifacts in event playback. The CPU load also seems higher than expected when using the 'zmc' process.

Could anyone provide insights into optimizing the Ffmpeg source path settings or suggest alternative configurations that might help reduce the CPU load while maintaining video quality? Are there specific settings in the 'storage' tab that I should look at to improve performance?
