Solar Powered Wireless Camera option?

Post by joseph85750 »

Does anyone know of a solar powered wireless camera which is compatible with ZoneMinder?
I've found a few solar wireless cameras, but they're all proprietary and I can't actually web/http/https directly to the camera.

Thanks!

Do any of them you've looked at even stream continuously? Whatever needs to do that, unless maybe there's something in 1.37/1.38 to come.

Given that WiFi cameras accept a 5V or 12V input, you can DIY some solar. You'd need to measure what is the energy consumption of the camera and size a battery and PV panel to match that (taking into account that the battery needs to charge during day while camera is also running and then have enough stored energy to run it during night, and thru cloudy days, etc). The resolution of the stream would probably make a difference on energy consumption.
