Amcrest IP8M-T2499EW help?

Post by kdemaria »

I just purchased a new Amcrest IP8M-T2499EW, and it works great with VLC, but not zoneminder. ZM can authenticate to it, makes a connection, but never gets a synced video stream. I have other amcrest 4k cameras, working fine, just not this one. I have tried it against multiple zoneminder servers. Does anyone have this camera working?

I am getting errors along the lines of this.

2020-04-27 09:53:49 zmc_m3 11457 WAR slice type 32 too large at 5 zm_ffmpeg.cpp 70
2020-04-27 09:53:49 zmc_m3 11457 WAR decode_slice_header error zm_ffmpeg.cpp 70
2020-04-27 09:53:49 zmc_m3 11457 WAR no frame! zm_ffmpeg.cpp 70
2020-04-27 09:53:49 zmc_m3 11457 ERR Error while decoding frame 22 zm_remote_camera_rtsp.cpp 334

I have tried every possible resolution combination to no avail and I'm just not sure where to go from here. I think all of you in advance for any help!

Ok, I got this working and thought I should post settings. TCP was required, UDP caused smearing. FFMPEG was required. Remote with RTSP did NOT work and through all sorts of errors. ONVIF did not work as I expected, but I don't know much about it's supposed to work. Otherwise, ZM and Amcrest are working wonderfully now

On the ZM side:
Source Type = FFMPEG
Source Path = rtsp://user:pass@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
Method = TCP
Color = 32 bit
Capture Resolution = 3840x2160
Orientation = Normal
Deinterlacing = Disabled

On the Amcrest Side:
Encode Mode = H.264H
Smart Codec = On
Resolution = 3840x2160
Frame Rate = 15
Bit Rate Type = VBR
Quality = 4
Max Bit Rate = Customized (5888)
