The rest is basically saying that it is taking too long for ffmpeg to figure out what the stream is.

You might try setting the Options feild to probesize=50000
You might also have to adjust Options->System->WATCH_MAX_DELAY larger.

I take it these are older cams? I wouldn't expect the keyframe interval to be too huge, but maybe so...
it does not work.

I have set the rate to 3 and the interval to 10
you are right, these are older cams

So vlc works with the url what about ffplay?

I use 1.36.25 with lots of old Axis and Foscam cameras. Nothing special about them, they should work fine.

I see that with my foscams I have specified port 80 for the rtsp stream... rtsp://192.168.2.17:80/videoMain
Which is weird, but whatever.

Dear all,

after installing a new cam, I had the same problem. Same cams, one works, one did not with the same parameter.

Now I think I have found the problem and the solution, hopefully.

Hardware:
raspberry PI 4 wit 4GB RAM
cams which did not work: foscam wiht ffmpeg

ZM 1.36.33

I encreased the GPU MEM from 64MB to 128 MB and now it works fine

Best greetings from Lower Austria.
