vidoe files are lost after 2 days

Post by jedix »

Events remain, but the files backing the events are missing. I've checked the disk and they are certainly not there, but worked when they occurred. Any hints on what is going on?

Did you just upgrade to 1.32? The zmaudit script went haywire for me the first couple of days after upgrading from 1.30, insisting the events weren't in the database and deleting all the events from disk, even though they were definitely in the DB. I can only assume it had something to do with the new storage scheme because it seems to be OK now, but I also set the audit timeout to 1209600 (2 weeks) just to be sure.

I had a similar thing happen. I upgraded to 1.32.0 (from 1.30.4). All the events from the previous version still show up in the web interface (meaning they are presumably still in the DB). But actual event JPG files have all been removed and replaced with a bunch of broken symlinks:

Code: Select all

# pwd
/var/lib/zoneminder/events/Driveway_Camera/18/09/25
# ls -lah
total 114K
drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 196 Sep 25 15:51 .
drwxr-xr-x 8 apache apache   8 Sep 25 06:37 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 06:37 .343006 -> 06/37/45
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 08:09 .343029 -> 08/09/34
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 08:28 .343034 -> 08/28/15
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 08:54 .343041 -> 08/53/56
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 08:54 .343042 -> 08/54/21
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 08:58 .343043 -> 08/58/05
lrwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache   8 Sep 25 08:58 .343044 -> 08/58/28
...
Those are all broken/bad symlinks.

Looks like my backups weren't working either. I am out of luck?

Edit: I had lots of events that were archived, even those got deleted. Even the ZM web console now shows all monitors have zero archived events. :(

I did upgrade from 1.30 to 1.32.

I thought I wiped everything out though. How did you stop it from removing things? It has been days now.

I'm also seeing strange things with regards to the monitors stopping once in alarm mode, perhaps to do with a zone overlap or an inclusive zone.
