how to really disable a monitor

Post by rpdrewes »

I can "disable" a monitor in the web interface and via command line, but the Zoneminder system still insists on repeatedly trying to restart the capture daemon:

Jul 20 12:48:30 main zmc_m6[28594]: INF [Starting Capture version 1.30.0]
Jul 20 12:48:33 main zmc_m6[28594]: WAR [Can't connect to remote camera: No route to host]
Jul 20 12:48:33 main zmc_m6[28594]: ERR [Unable to connect to the remote camera, aborting]
Jul 20 12:48:33 main zmc_m6[28594]: ERR [Unable to connect to camera]
Jul 20 12:48:33 main zmc_m6[28594]: ERR [Failed to pre-capture monitor 6 -1849923500 (1/1)]
Jul 20 12:48:33 main zmdc[4221]: ERR ['zmc -m 6' exited abnormally, exit status 255][/quote][/quote]

Is there any way to completely disable a monitor so that the system does nothing with it, but still leave the monitor "provisioned" so that when I want to reenable it I don't have to go through the whole setup process?

Thanks,
Rich

Have you tried changing the function to "none"?

I have the same issue, even after setting the monitor to None, disabled , the log gets filled up with error messages
2019-01-12 09:47:49.248641 zms_m7 24347 ERR Unable to connect to zmc process for monitor 7

Update: found the solution: had to stop/restart all the clients still trying to access the disabled monitor, then all errors gone :)
