the archive files take up a very large volume

Post by leksand »

the archive takes up a lot of space, before that there was shinobi - it took up much less space with the same quality, an example of the current one in the screenshots.

I tried to put camera passthrough and reduce the quality on the cameras, but there was no big difference in volume

the first screenshot shows the fattest files, the second one is the usual size, but it seems to me that this is also a very large size

Do passthrough but don't save JPEGs.

I tried it, it's better, but not much.

What settings are optimal for a FullHD camera, there is only h264 on the camera and on zoneminder

I'm sorry - it got better. It seems to have switched due to the fact that there were problems with downloading files from the archive, I'll check the other day.

The difference in file size is huge!

Once you are just saving the video off the camera (with no transcode), that’s as small as it can be.
