Adding controls for external actuators to monitor windows

If you've made a patch to quick fix a bug or to add a new feature not yet in the main tree then post it here so others can try it out.

Adding controls for external actuators to monitor windows

Post by szgabor » Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:05 pm

Hi!

I have been using ZM for a mere two days now, but am very excited. I read overall how extensible it is, and I've got the idea of souping up a few of my simple cameras with servos to move around and/or solenoids to move an external IR filter. But it would be even nicer if I could control all this stuff from the ZM monitor window. What I want to do is to make some control (button, slider, etc) appear in the window, and make the serial port spit out some bytes if these are touched.
Is it possible to create such an extension for ZM? If yes, what should be my next search keywords?

Thanks in advance!
