I need a feature to keep the HDs clean while guaranteeing to keep a certain time span available for review, lets say the last 14 days.
I know there is an option to purge older events if the HD becomes full. I find those settings a bit complicated and the approach in general wrong. If you want to keep as much as possible, this might be the solution.
But realistically its more important to define the time span needed to review events in the past. There are also data privacy laws which could require to keep recorded images for not too long.
An easy option to define the time span to keep would be good.
If this is already possible, I'd be happy to learn about it.

I clicked on the event filter, chose purge when full and added the following:
Date, less than, -180 days (roughly six months)
You might want to add :
Date, Less than, -14 days

nice one... took me a while to discover it... but with data protection laws we need to be able to mask out public area's
