Event numbering for different cameras

Post by we4zonM »

Not sure if this is a feature request or if there is a Zoneminder setting already that allows this. Did search in forums but did not find anything yet.

When using several cameras in Zoneminder, the Event numbering seems to combine with the cameras. This means that when an event happens on camera1, it increases the event number by one so that event#=1. Then, if an event happens on camera2, it increases the same event number by one so that event#=2. Then, if an event happens on camera3, it increases the same event number by one, so that event#=3. Then, if another event happens on camera1, it increases the event number by one, so that event#=4. A total of 4 events. Now, if you go to look at the events for camera1, you see two events, event#1 and event#4. The feature request that I have, if it is not already present, is that there would be separate event counters available for different cameras if you wanted to enable that option, and that there still would be a "total event view" that could be selected so that you could view the events of all cameras in sequential order. This way, if you look at the events for a particular camera, you would have events that are numbered in sequence. And, if you looked at all events, they would be sorted in time sequential order.

This is how the database works, each event is in the same table for all cameras.
To split the tables would make setting up ZM even harder for anyone that don't understand sql to begin with.
