Picture in Picture PIP

Can anyone tell me if PIP works as part of the video4linux driver or does it have to be a function of the capture card itself?

I'm interested having this work but I don't know where to start.

pip is a function of the viewer client whatever that maybe.

Couldn't someone implement this in the web interface by having dual AJAX-style streaming? (one to update the main window and one to update a floating <div>)

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to sit down and puzzle it out right now, so I'm just throwing the idea out there for someone.
