Have now upgraded to Kubuntu 14.04, installed ZM from repository, and linked in apache2.

It would seem that ffmpeg is not available under Kubuntu 14.04.
Any ideas for a solution to this, please, anybody?

Your best bet is to build it using this snapshot: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/651 ... 688.tar.gz
ZM does not play well with some versions of ffmpeg but that snapshot is considered to be 'the good one'.
