suse 10.3 missing dependencies

Post by michael0584 »

I just installed suse 10.3, basic installation with apache and mysql. I've added the liquid-co-de and packman repositories, but when I try to install zoneminder through yast it says there are missing dependencies for zoneminder and ffmpeg that it cannot resolve and it won't tell me what those dependencies are. Does anyone know what could be missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Michael

The only thing I can suggest is to install from source.

My reason for choosing Suse was the rpms for 1.23 zoneminder. I've had it running under fedora 8 with 1.22, but never got my webcams to work, now I have a compatable capture card and wanted to try 1.23. I think I would run into the same dependency problems from source, but maybe it would atleast tell me whats missing. I was just looking for the easiest installation method since my linux skills aren't the best.

Hi, try adding this repository in yast: http://packman.unixheads.com/suse/10.3/

In suse 1.2 I used this to get some, if not all, dependencies for zm v1.22.3

Hope this helps.

hi,

i think this is a problem related to the packman repository maybe they got synced/updated when you accessed the repository. i suggest to wait a bit and try it again later.

hope this helps

I finally got it, I ended up adding alot of repositories from http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_ ... positories
I figured something must be missing out of the basic installation. I then tried the zoneminder install and it added over 30 additional packages. It is now up and running except i get no output from my cameras. I'm not sure if its not configured right or what here is the output from zoneminder.
