Stale Monitor

Post by zemerdon »

Currently on a dedicated VM using Ubuntu 21.04 and Zoneminder v1.37.5 with 1 camera set to Mocord. (i7-11700k 1 cpu, 8 cores assigned, 16gb assigned ram, VM running on the Samsung 1tb Pro NVMe (shared with host OS) and zoneminder storage using VM exclusive mount 8tb WD NAS hdd (NTFS) for recording.

Everything is set and working fine except randomly the monitor will turn red with no error and stop recording. If i kill zmwatch it will restart and detect zmc might not be running and restart the monitor and carry on.

Is the best way to ensure monitor uptime, to issue a root crontab with "*/10 * * * * pkill zmwatch*" ?

any advice is appreciated.

switched to Debian 11 version and the problem seems to have resolved itself in the distribution change.

Everything also seems smoother and more responsive with Debian 11.

Thank you for your response.
