Downleveling to 1.36.xx from 1.37.xx

Post by Technoholic »

Hello I did a bare metal install of Ububtu Server 20.04. Zone minder is now included in that distribution but running 'sudo install zoneminder' resulted in a non-functional Zoneminder installation. A manual install procedure from the Wiki was followed which resulted in a fully functional Zoneminder installation. Only issue is it is v.1.37.1 development release. I am no where near being a developer and so think it wiser for me to be running v. 1.36.xx. The sources.list has been edited to point to the 1.36.xx repository. What is the next step to get down to 1.36.xx?

There is typically no graceful way to downgrade ZM.

You're best bet is to purge and reinstall.
You might even need to rebuild the server.

My downgrade experience on Ubuntu has been fine. Given 1.37 isn’t far from 1.36 I’d just go ahead.
