Good afternoon
Im using ZoneMinder (latest release). All works just as expected. I have been able to use S3 as my file storage with excellent results, but it seems this mode only works with video writer in X264 encode. If I set it to H264 passthrough, I do see the video file being created, and all the thumbnails as well but the created file is unplayable (manually or in the program console).
I know it is not my camera because if I set local storage, H264 passthrough works just fine and stores the files correctly in the local drive.
Am I missing something or it might be not supported?
best regards
h264 passthrough + s3fs
Re: h264 passthrough + s3fs
It should work. That being said, I had no end of troubles back when I was implementing it.
My suggestion is to record to a local drive and use a filter to move the events to s3 in the background using a filter. It will be far more resilient.
