Not to but in, but when I've had that it means the login failed.
Sometimes a stray character in string.
Can you (or did you) copy/paste from the vlc string?

https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Finding_Camera_Stream_Paths

Either the path is wrong, or the camera is incompatible w/ZM. You can try different source methods (ffmpeg, vlc, remote, file, etc). As an example, if the camera can upload images to an FTP server, then you can use source: file and host the FTP server locally on the camera server.

This is Snake Suggestion :)
I try directly on ffmpeg with debug level...

Try source type: libvlc. To install libvlc:
I think it is apt-get install libvlc-dev libvlccore-dev vlc

But possibly omitting vlc. Just try not to pull in X if its not required.

Restart zoneminder service after installing.

Hi Everybody

Sorry for my bad english !

I have been using ZM for over 12 years and have tried it in many dists. But now i feel for giving it up.. Why ??

It use to work in a clean VM or Standalone computer, but every time i run update everything crashes and back to square no 1 again.
I think i would be better to reorganize the people working with M, something must be wrong. I am using lots of software, but none has
been crashing in every update.

I was so happy to see how good 1.32 and up to 1.34 was working, the playback was working on every client both chrome, firefox and in mobile
no problem, but suddenly the new playback speed feature showed up, and pop... and all luck was gone !!!

You guys must slow down the speed of programming and start thinking of how can this be working on all devices and will it be backward compatible.
No playback fwd/rew is working for me now and export is working bad. Why isnt there any backup possiblety for settings and or data.
And why cant an old installation be overwritten and reconnecting to old data and database ?? And why isnt theres a possiblity to select stable/testing
releases in install or update ?? And why not using a testgroup before release ?? And my must i be afraid till install a new releases every time.

In release 1.32 up to 1.34 there were some small problem, but now it is impossible to use which i'am sorry to say.

For now i'am running on debian buster/vm

I have earlier been so happy to using ZM since iam not that rich and i have sending films to police in thefts, so it have helped me a lot.

And please move this post to the right place if iam wrong here.

Kind regards
Håkan

Thanks Snake :)

I think it's good idea ^^
So i try your solution, and i have another problem ...

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
vlc : Depends: vlc-plugin-video-output (= 3.0.10-0+deb10u1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

i will come back when i will find a solution for this new problem ...
Thanks
