I'm trying to get ZM to Connect to HASS but as I'm running both on a Dell OptiPlex I've had to not install HASSIO via an image and just done a straight Ubuntu install.
Has anyone made this work can could tell me how ?

I use both, but run them as separate VMs on an ESXi 6.5 host.
With your situation I could suggest if you are running ZM on the straight Ubuntu, you could install the Docker image of HASSIO that why the are still isolated from each other.
