ZoneMinder "hangs" when I look a live picture with 1080p

Post by johnydo »

Hello,

I have a problem with ZoneMinder when I look a live picture with 1080p. I click to Monitor-1 and I see my camrea live picture but ZoneMinder "hangs" and can no longer be used?
When I switch the Monitor-1 resolution to 720p the live picture working fine. Why is that? I think my Hardware is not the problem because I installed a Virtual Machine with 16GB RAM and 4 CPU Cores and I have the same problem.

My Monitor-1 config

Function: Modect
Referencdee Image Blend: 12,5% (Outdoor)

Try lower resolution and frame rates. This is not a HD video recording system...

Hi,

yes, I reduce the resolution to 720p and the system runs normal. But I don't understand that because when I show the live video direct on my camera at the webinterface the picture runs with 1080p smooth and without problems.
Why ZoneMinder can not show a 1080p stream without "hangs"? Is that a configuration problem on my system or is this inside ZoneMinder code?

For a second test I add my IP Camera direct to my Synology System. I installed the Surveillance Station Software on my Synology. After that I configured my IP Camera with a 1080p resolution and it works without any problems. I am wondering but my Synology have only a Marvell Armada XP MV78230 CPU and 1GB RAM? What is a different to my Ubuntu System with Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM?

Liveview is converted mjpeg that stresses browsers. You can lower the fps in 'options' for liveview and keep recording at 30fps. The eventview player uses an optimized player to play back recorded h264 that should run without problems.
