strange datarate on record

Post by jay23 »

Hi,
i have 3 identical Cameras (Reolink RLC-520).
Same config.
Same config on ZM 1.32.3 (debian Buster).
The first is locked at 10fps, the second at 25 and the third at 8.
Where comes the difference in kB/s from?

Why does the first Cam produces twice as much at 10fps, as the 2nd on 12fps?

How does this compare with the camera output? What are the actual rates?

Measure it. Make a 10 minute recording from each camera, check file size, calculate bit rate.

Ah, ok. You mean bitrates, not framerates. :-)
I have set a variable bitrate with maximum 8k at all cams.
Is ZM able to influence the bitrates?

You asked about bit rates.

And, no.

Sooooo, the "question" is: how are frame rate and bitrate related to Zoneminder's ability to manage those variables?

If anybody thinks calculating file sizes and jumping through math hoops is a way to operate a computer system in 2021, they have another thing coming...

You are right.
The bitrate ist between 7 and 10k on 1
and between 2 and 5k on 2 and 3.
But - why? They are all configed to 8k Max.

What ist the improvement between 5 and 10k bitrate?

I don't think I understand the question.

If you switch the settings to another one of the three cameras, is the result similar?
Also, are the cams seeing similar scenes in terms of motion?

Is there a better picture with 10mbit?
The fps and resolution is the same.

Cam 1 and Cam 2 sees the same Scene from different Directions.

OK. So if you reverse the setting of cam1 and 2, does FPS and datarate follow the same pattern? I'm wondering if they are really identical.
