cant play night events, just daily events

So this is really weird. I can watch daily events just fine, either passthrough or x264 encoded from different camera models (hikvision & foscam). But the events that happen during the night (and i am thinking IR is the common thing) when i try to play them i get "The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." on both firefox and chromium.

Has anyone experienced that or has any clue on what's going on?

Are the videos being recorded on the filesystem? Check /var/cache/zoneminder (default) or your storage area. scp them off the camera server, and confirm they aren't corrupted somehow.

The event frames are stored and so is the video. I just checked one particular occurrence from a foscam 8910w, and all the individual frames (JPEGs) are fine and they cover the whole event (22 frames), but the MP4 covers just very few frames when i open it on VLC.

So not sure if the encoding part is running okay? I did find a couple of night events that worked just fine on the broweser so it's not all as i initially thought (but the vast majority).
