Hikvision Buffers

Post by jkkuma »

Hi All,

I got a couple of hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD-ISB Cameras, but I can't seem to get them to do Mocord properly with more than 1 or 2 seconds worth of footage. What are the best buffer sizes for these cameras? It also doesn't capture when people walk in front very well, seems to be missing a lot of footage.

My hikvision, is set as follows, where as is saves the "stream", when it detects an event, with 150 images, before and after the event.
Also make sure when, there is motion detection, that the CPU utilization is not 100% saturated on all cpus/cores, then it will skip frames.

Image Buffer Size (frames)
250

Warmup Frames
25

Pre Event Image Count
150

Post Event Image Count
150

Stream Replay Image Buffer
1000

Alarm Frame Count
2

The default settings for zones are not good for high res cameras. You probably want the minimum blob and area sizes to be 1% or less. The default is 3 for Best, High Sensititivity

Thanks, I'll try adjusting the minimum blob and see what it does
