Hello,
I have Zoneminder 1.32.3 with rtsp cams capturing... Everything works fine with Storage video writer H256 Camera Passtrough. Video file mp4 is ok, when I download this video from Web UI then video can play on my computer via VLC, but on WebUI can't play video - WebUI give me message "The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." on console says VIDEOJS: ERROR: (CODE:4 MEDIA_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED).
If I click to download MP4 then file is ok... If I click to show frames or stills then images from video are showed correctly from video file... Only playing recorded event in WebUI doesn't work.
Live view of stream is also ok.
In debug logs is't any errors or warnings

Please help.

Linux distro and version, please.

Updated (last versions of components) Raspbian Buster on RPI 3b+ with ssd 2.5" USB disk for saving events

For the Pi use only .jpeg. Video recording does not work on Pi.

Recording mp4 video works good... I can download mp4 video and it works in my computer.
Problem is with playback this event in WebUI zoneminder.
Source is from rtsp stream and I don't know format... This is maybe a problem but downloaded video can play in my computer...

This pretty much sums up the problem I have.

- ZM 1.32.3
- on Fedora 31
- camera set to h264 passthrough video writer
- mp4 gets created no problem
- mp4 can be download and viewed
- live view works
- as does viewing still
- as does video thumbnail in the event list

everything works apart from viewing the actual event in the web-ui

as seen in the screenshot I only get to see the message "The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported."

So I was wondering if this issue has been resolved? Any tipps on what to do?


(using jpegs everything works fine, but I would like to keep using h264 passwthrough due to the much smaller disk space needed)

Is this problem so uncommon?
Am I the only one?
Does no one use mp4 passthrough?

is it a browser problem?
Or a codec problem (x265)?

Is there really no remedy?

(not to come across pushy... I am just fishing in the dark here...)

h265 cannot be viewed by most browsers.

1.33 has an option to have zms stream it as mjpeg.
