low bandwidth control FPS

Post by Zm-king »

Hi All,

How can I set FPS for low bandwidth connection ?
I tried in Option -> Low b/w -> WEB_L_VIDEO_MAXFPS and WEB_L_REFRESH_IMAGE to 2
But the live image steaming from web UI, is still showing large than 2.

My home ADSL upload bandwidth is about 1Mbps. It is not smooth to view 4 cameras with 720 x 396.

Thanks,

Looks like those settings only work with individual stream view. I set WEB_L_DEFAULT_SCALE to 50% and the size of the images in Montage did not change. When a monitor was viewed it did change to half size.

Looks like your best bet to lower bandwidth is to lower the frame rate at the cameras and reduce the image size. 5 FPS with 640x480 is sufficient for a security camera system. Yo can also create a separate web page and embed the stream from Zoneminder monitors into it as well as set the image size and rate.
