Memory map file '/dev/shm/zm.mmap.6' should have been 896 but was instead 0

Post by mxc »

Hi all,

I am getting these errors on a zoneminder installation that has been working fine for weeks.

"Memory map file '/dev/shm/zm.mmap.6' should have been 896 but was instead 0"

The most recent changes invovled scaling down the size of the source streams after changing them on the ip cameras. Based on what I know this should be causing this kind of problem. I have increased the shared mapped memory but no luck.

Any ideas?

thanks

"adjusting" shared memory went out several versions ago. ZM 1.30.4 does use tmpfs located as /dev/shm In olden days this was called RAM drive as it is part of the PC's memory. For Ubuntu, and other distros, tmpfs uses half of the available RAM. You can have bad memory.

If you have made changes to the (old) mapped memory settings change them back...

Thanks for the info. I have removed the shared memory settings. It turns out to have been a dns error. There was a change on the firewall. Maybe the log file could be clearer when there is a name resolution error or maybe I just missed it :)
