ZM Record -> NAS ZYXEL

Post by Askey.PL »

Hey guys,

I have a big problem with configuring the FTP server (ZYXEL NAS) for recordings from zoneminder are directed to my FTP.
Where I find step-by-step guide to configure Zoneminder -> recording -> FTP? Maybe any of the users dealt with this?

I would ask for help. Thank you

P.S. Sorry for my bad language ;)

I've never actually used the FTP function in ZM, but I believe it's for acting on events that have met a given filter criteria.

If you want ZM to "record" to the Zyxel you need to configure some sort of network share protocol like SMB or NFS and mount the storage points to the new share.

Good luck

If you want to use your NAS to store events the NAS needs to have a file system that understands symbolic links such as EXT3 or EXT4.
One sure way to mount the drive is to use systemd. For Ubuntu see https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Common_Issu ... ive_or_NAS

FTP may not be a great protocol to use to connect to a NAS. SMB or NFS is better and doing either mount with systemd is reliable.

Hi,

I created filters and that's work perfectly !,The events go to FTP, but there is another problem, my ZM creates many packages every 5 minutes on NAS FTP.

I think it must be in fuction a recording Modect :)

That is the way remote storage works on record or mocord.
What I suspect you want is to send events to your NAS as video, not jpg files, with a filter via FTP. But that is not what you asked about.

Hi,

I solved the problem of recording, but I have a new bigger problem.

My zoneminder does not create recordings, the recordings are empty / damaged.

Has any of the users coped with this problem?
