ReferenceError: Can't find variable: $j

Post by maxiedaniels »

I'm showing "ReferenceError: Can't find variable: $j" in the logs of ZM on Ubuntu 17.10. What is causing this?? I also can't get the API to work, but I have yet to fully follow another post that goes through possible fixes for that issue.

Well, there are issues with Ubuntu 17.10.
My recommendation is to reinstall the OS with Ubuntu 16.04. I feel this is the best bet if you plan to upgrade to 18.04 at the end of April.
If you insist on doing 17.10 see this install procedure: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Serv ... e_easy_way
Be warned that your effort to get Zoneminder working will likely be overwritten if you upgrade 17.10 to 18.04. This is my feeling but I've seen it happen going from 15.10 to 16.04.
