What happened to 'Remote method'?

I got my introduction to ZM a couple of months ago when I built my first system, 1.29.0.
I decided to build a new one today and went through the exact same process.

I followed the same instruction as I have for my previous version for 16.x server;

Once done, I cut/pasted everything from my previous install to this new accordingly.

When I came to the Remote Method' I noticed that the RTP/Unicast I had been using was now removed. I later noticed that the version was now 1.30.04 and that the previous options have now been removed. I have searched and searched and find hundreds of mentions of 'remote method' but none to do with the problem I am seeing.

I found this thread;

...but, I already have rtsp in the path. ; rtsp://192.168.1.36/0

One other odd problem is that the monitors (cameras under Name) have their links removed for no obvious reason. One minute I can click on a monitor and the next they are all just listed without a link anymore.

So far, I have yet to be able to find a way of seeing my cameras now which are connected to a 4-port grandstream device.

By the way, the one difference is that the previous version was a bare metal server while this one is a vm on esxi.

You have to change the protocol to RTSP instead of HTTP. Then you will see the RTP/unicast etc dropdown.

The Monitors not being links depends on whether ZoneMinder thinks it is running. If it is not, then you can't view the streams and so it doesn't make them clickable.

But that's just it, there was no RTSP in the list for source/remote unless I am looking at the wrong place? I went back to the old version since I could not figure this out.

Source tab - Remote Protocol is where you switch from http to rtsp

Nice, thank you. I'll give it another try at some point. Just learning as I go right now, using it for myself to see if it might be a good replacement for a number of installs that could become ZM.
