Did you delete the port 80 server in Apache? If you did you will have to set all your cameras to use ssl and make the changes in Zoneminder.

Re: no videos are displayed since i use SSL / HTTPS ...
this sounds like a configuration issue in the Apache2 configuration files. Check that the config file corresponding to https and port 443 in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled is correct and the proper path to the /cgi-bin/nph-zms is being declared.
Re: no videos are displayed since i use SSL / HTTPS ...
You really do not have to do all of that! I gave the OP a link to set up https on Apache. Took me about 5 minutes to do https on my production server with no config changes to Zoneminder.

@bbunge
I used the link you supplied and I was able to also set up https: using this set of instructions. Worked well on Puppy Linux Xenial using Server Version: Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) PHP/7.0.22-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 OpenSSL/1.0.2g mod_perl/2.0.9 Perl/v5.22.1
Server MPM: prefork

Hi,
Yes it works with this link because all the entire site is accessible with ssl. My problem was different:
I tried to keed http/80 opened to access /var/www/html and configure one sites-enabled confile file to
access /usr/share/zoneminder/www trough https only. In this last case, i can access zoneminder with https but
videos did not displayed. when trying to access these videos i get an error message in syslog regarding /cgi-bin/nph-zms. i don't know what to put in the sites-enabled config file . All what i tried was unsuccessful.

Re: no videos are displayed since i use SSL / HTTPS ...
You are trying too hard! Get Zoneminder working on a stock Ubuntu system under http (port 80). Then add https to Apache per one of many instructions on the web using a self signed certificate. And voila, you will be able to access Zoneminder on the same box using https://ip-addr/zm with no other changes! Mess with the Apache config or zm config and you could spoil a good install!!!
